FRIDAY 9/22/06 2:00PM
Heard from Martha and Laurie has been moved TCU (Thoratic Care Unit). There are 4 other sick patients in her room, so she is "sharing" the care of the nurses, there's a lot of noise and she's not resting well. She is in a lot of pain, and still has the epidural, which eases the pain, but makes her nauceaus and means she has to have a tube in her bladder as well.
She is not sleeping well and has not had any solid food, only crackers, some ice chips, still has a lot of draining from the chest and they won't provide much liquid until that clears/stops as the lung does better in a drier environment (hope I relay these messages correctly as I am a NON MEDICAL person!) They have not really spoken to the doctor yet as to get any real details of surgery and what to expect, but she is up, trying to walk, talking, her color is good - Martha went back to the hotel to bring Laurie her tapes so she could try to relax/rest better. Not sure yet how long she will be in the TCU or how long she will be in Boston - just taking it a minute at a time! .....stay tuned

Hi Laurie, checking in on you with Warren's warmest fuzzies. I am glad things went well, I hate to hear that you are in pain. Good things are in store for you, sister, good things are coming your way. Hang in there and keep your chin up....prop it up on a lovely lavender blanket!
Love, Wendy, Luke, Sarah, Stumpy, Jack, Scout, Sammi, and Boutros. Talk about a lot of fuzzies. :-)~

Laurie,
We all send our best wishes to you. Even though Nana is doing her D-Day trip, she is thinking of you as are Doreva and I. Shaner sends lots of woofs, licks, and lover your way, too!
Stay strong and keep up the good work in healing. Meditate, meditate, meditate. I am sending you lots and lots of good energy healing.
Love,
Robin
