Sept 15: Lots of general stuff
Hi again! Thanks to Deneen for the lengthly post! Yes, I did call Brian and he is coming over tomorrow to do the internet, clean up my computer and figure out my fax machine, which will make my bosses happy (need when on-call to get EKGs for ER patients).
Katie's grandmother was doing well last time she or I mentioned it, although certainly suffering from the effects of the concussion.
Two hernias are worse than one: more wire, more mesh, more surgical time. But since it was unexpected, it is better to know about it before the surgery than during, or even worse, after. Yes, the leaves will be nice, but not sure how much I will be able to see. I always have to dress warmly, because my mother runs very hot and always wants the air conditioner set very low. Fortunately, Cousin Beth loaned me a "prayer shawl" that someone at church had done for those who are sick, I will take that with me for the hotel. Brenda figured out a way to get one of my wedges into a suitcase, which will make the bed more comfortable in the hotel post-op.
Couldn't get to sleep until after 0300, time to use more drugs.... Got my hair done yesterday, so at least that will look good while I am unconscious and intubated! Will try to fit in getting the toenails done again: they are lavender/lilac from last round, but I think I want to go a little pinker, although one could argue not to fool with success. (It's the little things!)
For those who were/are in EMS: check out the "random reality" website; it's hysterical! Maybe I'll do a P.A. version when I start working again, although we don't have as much regular drama as pre-hospital, just by the definition.
It's already 10:54 am, so have to get showered, etc. Going to surprise the gang at the office and drive down.
