DAY 1 POST SURGERY UPDATE JULY 13TH @ 12:00PM
Hello everyone. On behalf of Laurie thank you for all of the well wishes on the blog.
Last night around 7:oopm I received a phone call from Brenda. She told me that she had me on speaker phone and that she was in the room with Laurie. I spoke with her for about five minutes. Although she didnt sound anything like herself (from the tube) it was great hearing her voice, it put my mind at ease. Laurie joked with me and thanked me for holding down the blog updates.
I just now received a call from Brenda. Apparently Laurie didnt have a good night. Her pressures went low and long story short they had to install a pacemaker. When Brenda arrived to see Laurie this morning she was sitting up in a chair, stating that she didnt feel well. The staff got her back into bed and Brenda left so that she could take a nap, thats when she called me.
The first day is always the worst, she's feeling the full impact of the surgery today. Please keep her in your prayers during her rough road to recovery, this week will be especially hard for her. Brenda will call me again in a few hours to give me another update.
Thanks all,
Joanne

Laurie, honey, hang in there!!! You must feel like the bionic woman who got run over by a train, but hang in there for us! Get the good drugs and sleep this off!! You can do this, I know you can. You are amazing, just remember that! Let all the folks around you take care of you and you just give your body what it needs....A BREAK!!!!! Think about New Hampshire and how relaxing and beautiful it was....put yourself out there on a kayak and let someone else paddle for you. Rest my friend so you can be big and strong again. Wendy

Laurie,
Been thinking of you and sending good thoughts for the past few days.
I'm glad the surgery went well. Take it easy, get some rest, heal up and come on home!
You are missed.

This is Carol Cotton from Buxmont. Laurie had told me about her new surgery being planned, but I didn't know it was this soon. She has been great in communicating w/ my mom & dad after his quadruple bypass earlier this year, and I'm sure they would want to join me in sending special healing prayers and blessings her way.. please let her know that she is being prayed for from Pennsylvania to Florida right now!!!
Thanks for keeping us updated on how she's doing.. when she can take it, give her a special hug from me, please??
Carol

Laurie,
We are so proud of you. We know how strong, brave and comedic you are. Keep it up. Rest and let the other professionals take care of YOU! There will be plenty of time for you to take care of others.
Please let us know if the pace maker is temporary or permanent.
We love you and miss you sooooo! xxxooo (without pain)
